Capra hircus, Hybrid, Mitochondrial genome.

The F1st generation of Boer goat × Dazu black goat and FuShun black goat × Jianyang big ear goat, were investigated. These two crossbreeds were not only bred for adapting to the environment in Chinese Southwest but also with preeminent reproductive capacity. This report describes the complete mitochondrial genome sequence of these hybrid goats. Both mitogenome are 16,640 nt in length, consisting of 13 protein-coding genes, 22 transfer RNA (tRNA) genes, 2 ribosomal RNA (rRNA) genes and a control region. As in other mammals, most mitochondrial genes are encoded on the heavy strand, except for ND6 and eight tRNA genes, which are encoded on the light strand. The complete mitogenome of the specific hybrid goats could provide an important data for further goat breeding industry in China.
